Latest News

Nassim has moved back to Seattle after a few years of living abroad (Afghanistan in 2004-2005, Cuba in 2006, Turkey in 2009-2010). In honor of her 30th year in the Emerald (b)rainy city, she curated an independently produced TED event in Seattle called TEDxRainier on 10-10-10 (see TED Blog interview or a recent Seattle Voices TV interview for details; next TEDxRainier will be on 11-12-11). She hopes to have a publication date for her second novel, Say I Am You, very soon.  In the meanwhile, she is happy to be working in clinical medicine at Country Doctor Community Health Clinics and serving as medical adviser to a company (ZocDoc) that helps patients make free, instant health care appointments. She is also a 2011 Jack Straw Writing Fellow and was recently honored by the University of Washington with a Woman of Courage Award.
